Summary

Primarily consists of driving gasoline or diesel-powered tractor to transport products on public highway.

What You'll Do

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  include the following: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips and reports any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisor or manager
  • Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
  • Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup, and relocation of products and materials.
  • Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers
  • Must be able to make multiple overnight runs as required by shipping needs
  • Must be able to back trailers in and out of receiving dock as well as service bays in service department.
  • Maneuver trailers in and around tight corners, through manufacturing areas and high pedestrian traffic.
  • Inform schedulers immediately from job site or dealer location of any damaged product or product returns by phone.
  • Completes “Product Return” form when any product is being returned on truck
  • Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations.
  • Present bills and receipts and collect payments for products delivered or loaded.
  • Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.
  • Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to base “supervisor or manager” by cell phone.
  • Maintain and protect all company property entrusted to you in excellent condition.
  • Obey traffic laws, and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations
  • Adhering to all Total Quality Management Training (TQM) practices outlined in document IP-761.

 Essential Functions:

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • Required:  Commercial Class “A” Driver’s License and a clean DMV record required.  Two year(s) experience as a truck driver with double and triples endorsements. Must be able to read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions.  Must be in good health.  Must be mature, self-motivated, and professional in appearance, with good verbal communication skills.
  •  GED/High School Diploma
